Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against Volkswagen

October 22, 2015

TACOMA, Wash. & SAN FRANCISCO--()--The Law Office of Stephen M. Hansen, The Hayes Law Firm and Nealey Law jointly filed an Amended Class Action lawsuit against the Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., Audi of America, Inc., their foreign parents and their financing companies, VW Credit, Inc., and VW Credit Leasing, Ltd., in Tacoma, Washington on behalf of plaintiffs April Sims, Breck Lebegue, Amy Johnson and Matthew Slichko.

The suit comes on the heels of Volkswagen admitting that it had rigged emissions tests on its “Clean Diesel” vehicles making them pass emissions testing while actually polluting the air as much as 40 times the legal limit. The lawsuit seeks immediate relief for those currently paying Volkswagen on leases or loans. It also seeks to recover the vehicles’ loss in value and other economic losses suffered by purchasers, as well as to vindicate the rights of all Washington residents to live in a clean air environment. Plaintiffs believe that around 20,000 Audi and VW dirty diesel cars with the impacted 4-cylinder TDI (“Turbo Diesel Ignition”) engines are currently on Washington roads.
